A Santa Monica landmark
Set atop a Santa Monica bluff overlooking the Pacific, The Eden is a restored Streamline Moderne landmark. Originally opened in 1939, its flowing architecture was designed by William E. Foster as a landlocked ocean liner.

During World War II, the hotel later served as a recovery center for returning airmen. Carefully restored and designated a Santa Monica Historic Landmark, The Eden reopened in June 2025, continuing its legacy of thoughtful design and hospitality.
